Along with a sister organization in London, Campaign Cooperatives, they started by buying bukoba instant coffee on Lake Victoria in Tanzania.

Equal Exchange is dedicated to promoting Fair Trade organic production methods and ensuring a fair deal for farmers and the environment.
The Volunteer has seen how entering small-scale farmers is due, in part, to the appallingly low prices they have received for their products. Help wasn't the only answer - direct, fairer trading could help repair the balance.
